Tribute & Message From The Family

Charleen Pero (Turcotte),67, of Goffstown, NH, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2018 at Elliot Hospital, Manchester NH, after a courageous battle with kidney disease and diabetes. She was born on November 30, 1950 in Manchester NH to Francis and Katherine (Quinn/Kendrick) Pero.

Charleen attended Central High School in Manchester NH. She went on to achieve her GED and worked at Bradlees on Elm St in Manchester. She then moved on to NH Insurance after her marriage to Ronald Turcotte in 1973. The two of them had their daughter Ann-Marie in 1976, and son George in 1981. As a family, they enjoyed camping, fishing, and having family barbeques at their house. They resided in Pinardville/Goffstown until 1989 when they built a new home in Weare, NH.

She worked as a bank cashier in Goffstown, and then onto Goffstown Hardware. In 1998, Charleen moved back to her hometown of Manchester NH and went to work for Home Quarters, and then onto Walmart where she remained until her retirement. She was always involved with her childrens lives, and when her first granddaughter was born in 2001, her life became about being a Nana. In 2011, she moved into her daughters home so that she could be closer to her family. She resided there until her passing. She enjoyed watching the children grow and being involved in their lives and spoiling them any chance she had. She enjoyed spending her free time doing her crosswords, sudoku, and cryptoquip puzzles. Charleen absolutely loved her job of ten years as a dedicated cashier at Walmart in Manchester, retiring in the spring of 2017.

Charleen is survived by her daughter, Ann-Marie Gelinas and son-in-law Alan Gelinas of Goffstown NH; her sister, Heidi Dubois of Manchester, NH; her grandchildren, Rylee Paige, Jillian Lynne and Gryffen Alan; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
