Tribute & Message From The Family

Message From The Family

Thank you for your support during this difficult time. Please enhance this tribute to Arthur by adding your memories and photos.

Arthur Lewis would argue that all man needed to live on was pizza...and it could very well cover the four basic food groups. Heaven gained a pizza aficionado on Saturday, December 1, 2018. Arthur died in Saint Joseph Hospital in Nashua, New Hampshire. He was 67. Heaven is the place we believe that we can have any and everything in abundance and without end. He will be lovingly remembered as fiercely loyal to family, friends and all the New England sports teams.

Born on April 5, 1951 in Newton Arthur J. Lewis was a son of the late Albert I. and Catherine C. (Bennett) Lewis. Raised and educated in Waltham he was a graduate of Waltham High School. He honorably served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era. A lifelong Waltham resident he moved to Nashua, New Hampshire in 1999 and married Carol A. Duhamel on May 31, 2014.

He worked for almost 30 years as a shipping foreman for Raytheon Corporation. His move to New Hampshire provided new and different work and Arthur tried his hat in real estate and worked for Top Sell Real Estate Agency in Nashua and enjoyed a lot of success.

He leaves his wife, Carol A. (Duhamel) Lewis; his sons, Kevin J. Lewis (Susan) of Milford and Michael A. Lewis (Jennifer) of Epsom, New Hampshire; his grandchildren, Kailyn and Ashley Gibson, Lacey Lewis, Hannah, Megan and Matthew Serafin; his brother, Albert E. Lewis (Laurie) of Waltham; his sister, Barbara A. Drechsler (Richard) of Waltham; his former wife and mother of his sons, Lois J. (Brousseau) Lewis of Waltham; his brother-in-law Robert Duhamel of Burreville, Rhode Island; his sister-in-law, Jane Duhamel of Uxbridge; his much loved dog, Diamond; nieces & nephews

Family and friends will honor and remember Arthur's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, December 5th from 4 to 7 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m. Burial will be private.

It's so hard to say goodbye to such a terrific man. I can remember when I first met Uncle Arthur, a skinny goofy, pimple faced boy, so many years ago. I remember hanging out with him for many of my younger years, watching the Bruins
- every game! and babysitting the boys (when they were very young) Arthur was always there for me when I needed a retreat from the craziness of adolescence, he taught me things about love, life, respect, resilience and how to be strong no matter what happens. I can truly say I am a better person because he was in my life. I am so grateful I was able to say goodbye to him in the hospital and let him know I will miss his smile the most. My thoughts and prayers to the family, especially the boys and the grandchildren. May god bless you all and help you through this very difficult time.
