DOVER - Mr. Raymond Gamble, 94, of Dover, formerly of Hamilton, MA, beloved husband of the late Frances C. (Croft) Gamble, died peacefully, Saturday December 2, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Salem, MA, he was the son of the late William and Mary (Trask) Gamble. He was raised in Boxford, MA and attended local schools. A longtime resident of the Town of Hamilton, prior to moving to Dover, Mr. Gamble had a long career as a machinist working for General Electric, National Company, M.I.T. and Varian Associates where he retired after 20 years. He was a hardworking man known for his attention to detail, dedication and dependability.

More than anything else, however, Ray was known for his love for his family. From camping trips when the kids were young, to caring tenderly for his wife during her long illness, he was never happier than when his family was happy. He was proud of their many milestones and accomplishments and will be dearly missed by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Ray is survived by his daughter, Dianne Mahoney and her husband Michael of Orlando, FL; his sons, Raymond Gamble and his wife Sharon of Dover, and Scott Gamble and his wife Sandra of Winthrop, MA; his three granddaughters, Kathryn Bailey, Mary Queipo and Sophia Gamble; his two sisters, Ruth Rollins of Boxford and Jane Durkee of Wenham, MA; his brother, George Gamble and his wife Sally of Danvers; five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (Rte 62) Danvers on Saturday, December 9th at 1:30 P.M. Relatives and friends invited.
